Day 7 - Welcome to the family, Lourdes!
January 7, 2012
Wedding day is here. Got drunk in the morning when all the groomsmen took a shot. I am seriously a one shot wonder and the photographers got it all. Wedding entourage, photographers, and wedding planners were all making jokes about it throughout the day. Sobered up, got some food, and headed to Balboa Park for the photoshoot. With 30 minutes before the wedding ceremony we headed back to base. Family and friends gathered together for this day and the place was decorated pretty good.
We all took our places as the ceremony began. As the bride made her way down the aisle I could see my brother getting just a little emotional. The sun was setting, the audience was getting emotional, vows were exchanged, and then it was official…my brother is married. Faith, love, and patience brought these two together.
The reception was just down the street and was pretty fun. Dennesse and I recognized a lot of people from middle school and surprised they remembered us. Food was really good, but kinda sucks I missed out on the hor d’oeuvres. The little kid right next to me had a little trouble cutting up his steak. The program for the night was entertaining and had a good time at the photobooth, probably because I was on a good one by that time. Mother didn’t approve so much when she saw the drink in my hand.
Throughout the night it was hard to realize that it was my brother’s wedding. Still hasn’t hit me yet.
